Then he became a dad.

Where he started

It built up quietly, the way it does for a lot of people with demanding lives.

Akash is a strategy consultant — 60-hour weeks, high-stakes work, and very little left in the tank by the time he got home. The weight crept on over years, and with it came the health setbacks a body under that much pressure eventually serves up. At the start he was 103kg, 36% body fat, with a 120cm waist. The hardest part wasn’t the number on the scale. It was the photograph — the one he couldn’t bring himself to look at.

His reason

Akash had become a dad for the first time, and his daughter, Shaya, was coming up to her first birthday. That was the line in the sand. Akash didn’t want a crash diet or a beach-body deadline — he wanted to be around for a long time. To be a healthy father. To play with her without getting out of breath. To be the best version of himself for Shaya, for his wife Ridhi, and for his mother. The goal was never the mirror. It was the life behind it.

Making the call

He was nervous. He knew the scale of what he was taking on, and he wasn’t sure he’d get there. What settled him was the first conversation: a plan built around his life — his family, his work, his schedule — instead of a template he’d have to bend his life around. Knowing the method had already worked for others, and that someone would guide him through it, was enough to begin.

Done properly

Everything was customised to Akash. He could still eat out with his family. He enjoyed Shaya’s first birthday and got through Christmas without a shred of guilt. The work was broken down week by week, with clear goals at every step, so the mountain became a series of manageable climbs — and the motivation held. His nutrition was built around an ovo-vegetarian diet, proving a strong, lean physique is absolutely achievable that way when it’s done properly.

None of it happened in isolation. Ridhi and his mother carried an enormous amount — the meal prep, the day-to-day, the quiet sacrifices that make a transformation like this possible. Akash is the first to say he couldn’t have done it without them.

What changed

Eleven months on, Akash is 70kg, under 15% body fat, with an 80cm waist — over 33kg gone. But the number he’s proudest of isn’t on the scale. It’s the habits. He still enjoys his food; he’s just careful now, and he makes the right choices without having to think about it. He never imagined he’d reach this stage.
